Hande Şekerciler: ecstasy

26 November 2020 - 1 January 2021
Overview

Hande's work celebrates the aesthetics of the body while augmenting the need of a connection between ourselves and others. She carefully selects the material used to harmoniously shape the manifestation of the ancestral human desire, in search of an intimate interaction between her sculptures and the viewer.

Hande takes the knowledge of the past and transforms it into an ultra-contemporary representation of the body. Her way of merging cutting edge technologies with the art of sculpting is a unique trait of Hande's technique.

In Ecstasy Hande explores various motives related to the consciousness of the self and its manifestation. The show presents a collection of intimate moments revealing a true and uncensored story between living creatures. Hande's Ecstasy no. 5, 8 and 15 find references in the Canto V of the Inferno from the Aligieri's Divine Comedy.
