JD Malat Gallery is pleased to bring together, Masayoshi Nojo (b. 1989, Japan), Lu Xinjian (b.1977, China), and Sophie-Yen Bretez (b. 1994, Vietnam/France), in a dialogue on perception, memory, and constructed reality across contemporary painting practices.
Through distinct visual languages, the artists explore how images shape lived experience: Nojo through layered materiality informed by Japanese aesthetic philosophy and impermanence; Lu through abstracted mappings of global urban systems derived from design logic and aerial observation; and Bretez through narrative, dreamlike figuration that merges autobiography, text, and symbolic space. Together, the booth presents painting as a shifting field between structure and emotion, and between abstraction and storytelling.
