For the fourth edition Tokyo Gendai, JD Malat Gallery is thrilled to present a thoughtful dialogue between Santiago Parra and Masayoshi Nojo, whose contrasting yet complementary practices explore the expressive potential of abstraction. Parra's visceral, impulsive and monochromatic canvases evoke psychological intensity through bold gestural marks and layers of black pigment, while Nojo's restrained compositions embrace silence, balance, and material sensitivity, reflecting a distinctly Japanese visual style, as a contemporary student of the Rinpa school of art.
