Conrad Jon Godly: Remind | Dubai: UPCOMING
“We should all remember that what I have painted still exists in reality”
JD Malat Gallery Dubai is pleased to present REMIND, a new series by Swiss artist Conrad Jon Godly. This new body of work marks a significant and deeply personal chapter in his practice where inner pressure and external change converged, demanding release onto the canvas.
The works presented in REMIND emerged during a period of profound global and personal turbulence — a time marked by rapid change and uncertainty. Rather than approaching the canvas with a fixed concept, Godly allowed instinct and emotion to guide the direction of the series. The earliest paintings took shape as volcanic landscapes — visual parallels to emotions that had been bottled up, erupting onto the canvas. The exhibition unfolds in a natural continuum. Volcanoes give way to waves; waves open into forests; forests clear into solitary trees; and finally, the horizon expands into luminous fields of flowers. Like a spectrum or a rainbow, the journey of REMIND moves gradually toward increasing clarity, peace, and colour.
